Club Scratch Eights and Octuples Regatta, and Summer Social – September 16th

As the summer draws to a close we are hosting a Scratch Regatta and Social on Saturday, September 16th.

A draw will be made to place those who want to race into random crews who will race one another in Eights (for Adults and Juniors J16+) and Octuples (for Juniors J15 and under), providing a great opportunity for people who don’t usually race together, and a chance to get to know other members from across the club.

Members can sign up by Monday, September 11th, either on the notice board or by using the Club Google Sheet.

Racing will commence at 1pm, and we ask that participants arrive by 12 noon to allow time for crews to be organised.

Racing is for fun and crews will be competing for the Clive Hole Trophy kindly created by George Adair in honour of Clive who died in 2020.

After the racing at around 3pm we will be officially naming the Clive Hole Boathouse which we purchased last year. This will be followed by a BBQ and social.

There will be no charge for members to attend this event, although donations towards the BBQ are welcome on the day.

Family & friends of members are encouraged to attend and watch the racing. There will be a £5 charge for the BBQ for non members. This should also be booked in advance on the sign up sheets.

There will be a bouncy castle for any children that people bring along to the event and we will be adding other entertainment for the afternoon.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the day.
