On September 27th DARC Explorers were at Tees Rowing Club for the Tees Minihead, an informal 4km time trial run once a month on a Sunday morning over a shortened version of the Tees Long Distance Sculling course.
Organisation of the Minihead is conducted on a rota basis by different squads from Tees Rowing Club, arrangements this month being carried out by the Tees Juniors.
DARC had two entries among the 16 taking part, using boats kindly provided by Tees RC –
- Steph Billington, Sara Colclough, Leanne Rodgerson and Caroline Fardoe in a Women’s 4x-
- Tom Billington and Steven Rodgerson in an Open 2-
Results are compiled based on an ‘adjusted time’ that makes allowance for crew age, sex and boat type.
The DARC quad came home 11th in 17:49.0 for an adjusted time of 17:53.3, and the pair finished 14th in 19:31.0, adjusted to 19:04.3.
