The 32nd annual British Rowing Tour saw 90 rowers plus supporters visiting the Norfolk Broads between June 4th and 7th 2026.
Rowing in coxed touring quads the eighteen participating crews drawn from clubs around the UK were split into 3 groups of 6, with each group following the same itinerary exploring the 3 main rivers of the Broads – the Waveney, Yare and Bure – over 3 consecutive days.
Among those taking part were George Adair, Helen Adair and Caroline Scholl, representing Durham ARC, who formed a crew with rowers from Maidstone Invicta RC.
The touring party was accommodated at a hotel in Norwich with transport being arranged each day to take the three groups to the start and finish locations at Beccles Rowing Club, Yare Boat Club and the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club at Wroxham.
Weather conditions held up for the most part and an enjoyable tour was had by all.
Details of other tours organized by the British Rowing Recreational Committee can be found on the Recreational Rowing website.
The Committee also arranges a European Tour in most years, this year’s September tour to Poland now being fully booked. It is planned to repeat the tour in 2027.
