Durham ARC had 9 entries among a record breaking entry of nearly 1000 crews from 128 clubs racing over 1000 metres at the 2025 British Rowing Masters Championships at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham over the weekend of June 14th and 15th.
Despite blustery conditions it proved to be a successful weekend.
First to start on Saturday was Michael Terry in a Hexham composite MasE 2x who finished 4th in heat 2 and with only three to qualify from each heat failed to reach the final.
Richard Court and Andy Jaggard then finished 3rd in heat 1 of the MasG 2x and qualified for the final in which they placed 4th.
Next was the only non-Championship entry, the 50+ coxed four of Darren Wrack, Tom Dower, John Liddell, Peter Matthews and cox Matthew Watson, who were 4th in the band 1 final on their first appearance at the Championships.
Aisling Dutton placed 5th in heat 2 of the WMasD 1x and was eliminated.
Michael Terry was in action again in a Durham/Hexham/Tyne ARC composite coxless quad who finished 2nd in the final of the MasE 4x- to take the silver medal.
Andy Jaggard was in the final of the Lightweight MasH single sculls and finished 5th.
Jenny Conroy and Aisling Dutton were 3rd in heat 3 of the WMasC 2x and with only the three heat winners and three fastest finishers to qualify failed to reach the final.
The WMasF 4x- final was the last Saturday event involving DARC and provided the second medal of day 1 with the crew of Sam English, Gabrielle Moore, Helen McMillan and Christine Heppell taking 3rd place for a bronze medal.
The only DARC entry on Sunday was the Women’s Masters G eight of Carolyn Edwards Hazel Stainforth, June Davison, Clare Woodward, Helen McMillan, Gabrielle Moore, Sam English, Christine Heppell and cox Tony Edwards who produced the best performance of the weekend by winning the WMasFGH 8+ to secure the gold medal.

- MasE 4x- (DUR/HEX/TYN) Silver
- WMasF 4x- Bronze
