Boston Marathon

Five club members successfully completed the gruelling Boston Rowing Marathon on Sunday 21 September 2008.  The Marathon is an annual head of the river race run over a 31 mile (50k) course on the River Witham between Lincoln and Boston.

Rose Hill and Peter Burdess won the Mxd Veteran H 2x.  They also hold the Veteran G and Veteran H course records gaining the first record in 2004 and the second in 2006. This is a remarkable achievement for club stalwarts Rose and Peter who were completing the marathon for the fourth time.  They are proof that age is no barrier to rowing.

Hazel Stainforth won the Women’s Veteran F 1x setting a new course record for her age group.  Hazel already holds the course records for Veteran D 1x 2001 and Veteran E 1x 2004.

Caroline Scholl and Alan Cartwright, competing in singles, both completed the course.
