Rowing Workshops

Workshops

At British Rowing they believe in continued education and personal development.  The aim of their workshops is to make education and training accessible to everyone.

British Rowing offer a range of courses to their coaches and members to ensure not only good practice in the sport of rowing but also enjoyment in taking part.

British Rowing has developed a series of workshops to cover areas that do not require a formal qualification or lengthy time commitment. These range in duration from three hours to a full day. They include any relevant theory but generally have a practical approach.

The workshops are flexible and may cover a one-off topic, a series of programmes that can be completed as and when necessary, or even areas of specialised knowledge that require a dedicated session. A sample list is;

  • Basic Rigging
  • Core Strength
  • Coaching British Rowing Technique
  • Safe & Strong Trunks
  • Time to Listen
  • Introduction to Coaching Rowers with a Disability

ALL courses and workshops are advertised on the Northern Rowing Council website

RowHow is British Rowing’s all new distance learning system.  This is an evolving system and they are gradually building up the courses available on the site.  RowHow will eventually contain courses in a wide range of subjects ranging from coaching to trailer driving; coxing to child protection and water safety to rigging.

The site provides an interactive learning environment with activities, videos, games and animations to help you understand and develop your rowing knowledge.
